Тогдашний посол США Уильям Тейлор (дружок Фирташа и Ющенко) строчил депеши в метрополию, где обрисовывал Тимошенко, как "катастрофу", политика, лишенного экономического видения, популистку и т.д. Остается вопрос, был ли Тейлор просто некомпетентен, или его материально заинтересовал Фирташ, для которого победа Тимошенко на выборах означала бы крах его бизнеса с Газпромом.
